Workshop on gender budgeting and SDG number 5 on gender equality

Welcome to a workshop held by Emilia Reyes, gender budgeting expert, Coordinator at Equidad de Genero and Co-chair of the Women’s Major Group.

The workshop will concentrate on how Sustainable Development Goal number 5 – “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls” – can be furthered with the help of gender budgeting. Reyes will also give updates on the situation with the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) to be held in July from the point of view of the Women’s Major Group.

After the first part of the workshop, the participants can also stay and follow the second part (from 13.00 to 17.00) that will focus on the work of the East African (especially Tanzanian) UN Associations on gender, gender budgeting and the SDGs. The East African NGOs will participate online.
