The UN Association of Finland:

• educates about global responsibility and possibilities of influence
• provides information about the UN and its actions
• influences Finnish UN policies

The training activities of the Association support the educational goals set by the UN and UNESCO. The Association focuses on global education.

Global education comprises a variety of training and informative activities that aim at understanding international decision-making structures and increasing global responsibility. The training activities of the Association aim at reaching long-term results: permanent changes in attitudes and working methods.

Global education aims at e.g. promoting awareness of the UN and human rights. It also supports responsible and active citizenship. The principles and aims of sustainable development are important guidelines to global education.

Our central target groups are teachers, those studying to become teachers, those providing training to youth and volunteer-based trainers from our member organization.

We have two central educational tools: Model UN -simulation and The Global Citizenship Maturity Test. In addition to these, we provide a variety of materials to schools and educational institutes, including e.g. ideas on how to raise awareness on different UN days at school.

We also provide large educational seminars, trainings and courses, many times in cooperation with other NGO's.
