The Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (ABCDE) aims at promoting debate on current development issues by bringing together researchers, decision-makers and practitioners from all over the world. The ABCDE is one of the world's best known series of conferences for the presentation of new knowledge on development. The conference is
being co-organised by the World Bank and the Government of Sweden.
This year's ABCDE will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. The overall theme of the conference is: Development Challenges in a Post-Crisis World. Plenary session themes include: Environmental Commons and the Green Economy, Post-Crisis Debates on Development Strategy, The Political Economy of Fragile States, New Ways of Measuring
Welfare, Social Issues/Human Development/Safety Nets.
